To the memory of L'enfant Terrible.

Hearing the news of Alexander McQueen simply broke Phyllis' heart. McQueen served as a stepping stone into Phyllis love...obsession with fashion. It pains me to find this as a reality. Phyllis almost wanted to believe this as a "prank" McQueen would play on the industry to cause a stir in fashion that he was always so known for. The memories that McQueen brought onto his admirers are endless...Shalom, sprayed with paint, the Chess Set, the Gothic Merry-Go-Round, Arabian Nights, the Dancehall, Kate Moss Hologram...Phyllis could keep on going.

Knowing that McQueen was so young and had so much more to share with the world will be the hard part. After seeing Spring 2010 it just left us all with a yearning for more and more...he was unique, a visionary, an iconoclast, dreamer...my HERO and he will be greatly missed.

My sincerest prayers and memories are with you and your family.

But you are now a Mother and this look, JUST ISN'T WORKING. The bouffant, really, do you really need that much height for your hair...if you asked Donatella she would have just told you to wear it pin straight which would have been so perfect with the Versace dress. You are making Versace look cheaper than it already is...

Beyonce on the other hand, in Balmain, has a better sense of where fashion has gone...don't think I am calling her a style icon, cause she is nothing of the sort. But Jenny, YOU HAD IT...you were there and then the "break" happened. Phyllis suggests a better stylist or hair team that can work with you on personalizing the look so you can wear Balenciaga boots and hoops and still look chic, like the OLD days...remember?

That catsuit on New Year's was UNFORGIVABLE.

I will never forget the suits that Richard Gere wore in American Gigolo nor will I forget these costumes you designed for Gaga. At first glance Phyllis thought that Olivier Theyskens came out of hiding to design for Gaga. I guess Phyllis was wrong because you totally threw me for a LOOP! The shoes, the bodysuit, the gown, the ICEBERG on Gaga's head...it's just not you.

Tom Ford has yet again melted Phyllis' heart with his first film, A Single Man. Visually stimulating and impeccably art directed...Phyllis needs to see it again. Tom Ford is a man of detail and this film was as close to detail as Tom's farewell Collection at Gucci for Fall/Winter 2004...perfect in every aspect but lack of a plot. Julianne Moore is haunting and the men are extremely BEAUTIFUL. Phyllis can not wait for Ford's next film. A "must-see" for the Holiday season.

Chanel Pre-Fall 2010

It came as no surprise to Phyllis that Karl would stage his Pre-Fall Collection in Shanghai rather than Dubai, being that the market in Dubai is doing AWFUL...and Shanghai is WAY more glamorous.

Karl SURE knows how to put on a show...did you all see the Chanel: Paris/Shanghai Videos??? Phyllis was almost as offended seeing Freja and Baptiste dressed as Asians, just like the first time Phyllis watch Mickey Rooney dressed as the Asian Landlord in Breakfast at Tiffany's! How could I forget Heidi Mount's performance, Edita's, and lets not forget about Stephan Gan's cameo. But a show is a show...and Karl always has to have a SPECTACLE!
